Transportation
HICL has fleet of couriers including commercial and private delivery companies to ensure rapid and effective transfer of specimens and results.
Local couriers deliver specimens same day to HICL - other specimens are delivered overnight. Friday shipments will be delivered to HICL on the next business day (usually Monday), HICL does not routinely receive deliveries on Saturday, Sunday or Canadian Statutory Holidays (New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas or Boxing Day). Exceptions for urgent specimens should be arranged prior to shipping specimens by contacting HICL during regular business hours.
For instructions or inquiries on transportation schedules and deliveries of laboratory samples to HICL, please contact one of the Laboratory Referral Network Charges.
Packaging and Shipping of Specimens
Specimens should be packaged and transported in accordance with local and Canadian legislation including Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act & Regulations. You must notify us prior to shipping biohazardous specimens.
