Reporting Time And Stat Testing
This Web site lists the average time (in working days) required for results to be available after receipt of a specimen. Generally, results for tests listed with a one day turn around time can be reported same day.
Results that may have significant and immediate impact on patient management are phoned or sent by auto FAX as they become available. To reduce reporting time, all results can be returned by auto FAX or through an HL7 compliant interface.
Many tests offered by HICL can be provided on an urgent basis with prior notification to do this efficiently. You may be asked to arrange for transportation directly to the performing site to expedite testing. Contact HICL Customer Service at (416) 422-3000 (888) 285-7817 ext. 300 or info@hicl.on.ca during regular business hours to request urgent service or to obtain further information. Outside regular business hours, your call will be directed to an on-call staff. Include a phone number on the Requisition where urgent results can be phoned.
